Product Description:
The Petroleum Paste is a viscous, brown soft petrolatum primer that contains corrosion inhibiting compounds to displace moisture. It is applied using brush or gloved hands at normal temperature, and it does not harden, crack, or dry over time.
Usage
The Petroleum Paste is mainly used as a primer before the application of petrolatum tapes. The paste has the ability to penetrate existing rust, pacify the surface, and displace moisture, which aids in the adhesion of mastic and tapes. When used as a primer, it acts as a protective barrier against moisture and corrosion, thus improving the longevity of the system.
Applications:
For removing rust on surfaces, wire-brush can be used along with wiping soil with rags. This will help in cleaning the surface of rust and other contaminants.
To maintain the surface and keep it rust-free, PETRO PASTE must be applied regularly. It is important to ensure that 300~500g/m2 range is applied by hands for better protection of the surface.
If the surface is complicated or uneven, using PETRO PASTE as filler in Valve, Flange and Unevenness can be helpful. Tapes tend to have gaps in these areas which can be filled using PETRO PASTE for better coverage.
When the tape is overlapped, it is important to keep it for more than 15 minutes (30~50%). After swathing, level the tape by using stroking with hands to remove joints according to the line.
P.V.C OUTER TAPE can be used for finishing purposes, and various colors are available for indication by environmental situation.
